Fine Artist, Illustrator, Autodidact Photographer, Graphic Design Graduate and former Ad Agency Creative Director makes Alfonso a Filmmaker that prints a unique vision and sensibility to all his movies. His broad background enables him to fully understand each resource and element at play in any given media assignment.
Born in Uruguay and raised in the United States and other several Latin-American countries have given him a rich and diverse cultural vision that leaks into his work.
Throughout his career he has created several television commercials for different markets of South America and Europe; for international brands such as Pepsi, Renault, Borden, KFC, Jordache, Tigo, Claro, Personal, Movistar, Bic, Tame, Nestle, among others.
He also has directed several short films, which won awards at festivals in the United States, Spain, Africa, Chile and Uruguay.
He was awarded “South Region Best Director” at the prestigious Festival “El Ojo de Iberoamérica 2010” and most recently he won “Ecuador Best Director” at “El Ojo de Iberoamérica 2012”
His constant quest for precision and profound love for compelling images; has gradually driven him to get really involved from concept to completion in the entire production process. Taking active part in the post-production and animation of the commercials assigned to him and occasionally even directing the photography of some of them.
Beyond his unique cinematic style and compelling story telling capabilities; all this makes him a very rare and wide-ranging Director that really gets involved into every last detail of a project.
